History & Heritage
Built in 1892 for Prince Roland Bonaparte, the building is now listed as a historical monument. After traversing the centuries in multiple lives, it opened as a luxury hotel in December 2010, under the Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts banner. In 2014, the establishment received the Palace distinction, the ultimate symbol of excellence in hospitality in France.
Architecture & Design
The work of architects Alfred Ernest Charles Janty and Michel Roux-Spitz has honoured a legacy while enhancing views of the Seine and the Eiffel Tower. The Haussmannian elegance of the façades, characteristic of the 19th century, now dialogues with contemporary layouts. Inside, the lounges and common areas combine delicate frescoes and original mouldings, preserved during the renovation.
The In-House Experience
With 136 rooms, including 36 suites, Shangri-La Paris captivates with its generous volumes — a rarity in the Parisian hotel landscape. The signature suites open onto spectacular views, whether it be the sparkling night scene of the Eiffel Tower or the calm reflections of the Seine. This high level of attention, combined with a strategic location in the 16th arrondissement, makes it a sought-after destination for discerning travellers.
Dining
Three culinary venues enrich the experience at Shangri-La Paris.
- **Le Bar Botaniste**, recommended by the Michelin Guide, offers one of the best Parisian mixology experiences. - **Shang Palace**, the only Michelin-starred Chinese restaurant in France, remains under the direction of chef Tony Xu, who revisits the culinary traditions of his country with a contemporary touch. - **La Bauhinia**, located under a spectacular glass roof, skillfully blends French and Asian influences.
Wellness & Spa
Integrated into the heart of the hotel, the spa "Chi, The Spa at Shangri-La Paris" illustrates a harmonious dialogue between Parisian luxury and Asian traditions. Its 17-metre indoor pool, flooded with natural light through large bay windows, opens directly onto a landscaped terrace. Also equipped with a hammam and a fitness room, this compact space of 94 m² combines serenity and sophistication.
Just Steps Away
The location of Shangri-La Paris provides access to a rich array of cultural and historical activities. Approximately 134 metres away, the **Guimet Museum** houses the largest collection of Asian art in Europe. More contemporary, the **Palais de Tokyo**, about 229 metres away, offers not only major exhibitions but also workshops for the whole family. For a break between visits, the **Cantine Russe**, approximately 196 metres away, invites you to explore traditional cuisine facing the Eiffel Tower. Finally, the Byzantine architecture of the **Saint Stephen Greek Orthodox Cathedral**, about 490 metres away, impresses with its historical roots dating back to the late 19th century.
