On vient au Dolder Grand pour une chose rare à Zurich : un grand hôtel patrimonial qui garde une vraie discipline d’opérations. Ouvert en 1893, il tient encore sa promesse de maison de destination, pas de simple adresse de passage. Ses 175 chambres et suites donnent l’échelle. Vous n’êtes pas dans un boutique-hôtel déguisé en palace. Vous êtes dans une institution qui assume son volume, son service, et son rythme. Jacques Gros signe l’architecture d’origine, et cela compte encore dans la lecture du lieu. Le bâtiment n’est pas seulement ancien. Il est reconnu comme bien culturel suisse d’importance régionale, ce qui le place dans une autre catégorie de présence urbaine.
