Vasarely Suite

The Vasarely Suite pays tribute to the optical master who made Gordes an artists’ village from 1948. At 60 sq m, it offers a king-size bedroom, a separate sitting room and a 33 sq m private south-facing terrace over the Luberon valley, the Alpilles and, on clear days, Mont Ventoux.

Christophe Tollemer designed a décor where Burgundy stone, antique Provençal furniture and Pierre Frey fabrics converse with geometric accents inspired by Vasarely’s work. The stone bathroom has a bathtub and walk-in shower; minibar, Nespresso machine and air conditioning complete the palace comfort.

From the terrace, the village of Gordes seems suspended above the olive groves. It is the suite I book first for a stay that combines the intimacy of a Provençal mas with a view shared only with the Luberon sky — ideal for a honeymoon or wedding anniversary.
