A word from the Concierge

Hôtel Le Bristol Paris through the Concierge's eyes

Oetker Collection palace on Faubourg Saint-Honoré: 1,200 sq m garden, 3-star Epicure, rooftop pool and La Mer spa, 300 m from the Élysée.

The Concierge

On Faubourg Saint-Honoré, Le Bristol has cultivated French hospitality since 1925. The 18th-century town house holds 188 rooms and suites, a 1,200 sq m French garden and a mahogany pool on the rooftops.

The Les Clefs d’Or concierge anticipates without intruding — Epicure table, afternoon tea at Le Jardin Français, Élysée transfer. That is the essence of a Parisian diplomatic stay: interior luxury, three hundred metres from power, without ever breaking the spell. Arnaud Faye and Vincent Schmit anchor the house in contemporary French dining.

Location — Faubourg Saint-Honoré & Élysée

Le Bristol stands at 112 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, three hundred metres from the Élysée Palace. Madeleine metro (lines 8, 12, 14) is an eight-minute walk.

The district is one of power and discreet couture: Hermès 24, Faubourg boutiques, Place Vendôme twelve minutes away. The concierge coordinates taxis, private cars and walking routes around protocol appointments.

The address suits diplomatic, family (interior garden) and gastronomic stays — away from Champs-Élysées nightlife.

Palace heritage — garden, pool, art de living

The 1,200 sq m French garden is one of Paris’s largest private hotel gardens — an oasis between 18th-century façades. The Matignon wing (2009) added twenty-six rooms and the mahogany-lined indoor pool on the 6th floor.

The 188 rooms and suites carry period furniture, Pierre Frey fabrics and master paintings. Fa-Raon, the sacred Birman cat, has been the official salon mascot since 2010.

Clefs d’Or service extends the experience beyond the walls: Epicure tables, Élysée transfers, private access on the Faubourg.

Rooms & suites — from Deluxe to Imperial Suite

One hundred eighty-eight rooms and suites make up the palace. Deluxe and Prestige categories (garden or city view) carry the Bristol signature: marble, French fabrics, generous bathrooms.

The Imperial Suite (320 sq m) and Penthouse Suite (270 sq m + 100 sq m terrace) rank among Paris’s largest accommodations. Suite Eden hosts wellness rituals.

Garden side for quiet, Faubourg side for discreet energy — that is the criterion the concierge checks first at booking.

History — from 1758 to Oetker Collection

Count Jules de Castellane’s town house, built in 1758, became Hôtel Le Bristol in 1925 under Hippolyte Jammet. The Oetker family acquired the palace in 1978 — flagship of Oetker Collection.

During the Liberation, Le Bristol hosted the US embassy; it was one of the few Parisian palaces not requisitioned under the Occupation. Epicure earned its third MICHELIN Star in 2009; the palace was among the first Palace distinctions by Atout France in 2011.

Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris (2011) immortalised the Bristol’s salons and garden — the residence remains a reference of Parisian cinema.

The Concierge’s Tip

My tip: for a first stay, ask for a Prestige room on the garden side. You sleep facing 1,200 sq m of greenery without losing the morning light. The ritual I recommend is breakfast at Le Jardin Français, then a few lengths in the mahogany pool before lunch at Epicure. Share your arrival time — the room can be readied early.
