On vient au Pera Palace pour une chose précise : dormir dans une adresse pensée, dès 1892, pour les voyageurs de l’Orient-Express. Ce détail change tout. Ici, l’histoire n’est pas un décor ajouté après coup ; elle organise encore le rythme du séjour. À Beyoğlu, l’hôtel garde une échelle rare avec 115 chambres, ce qui lui évite l’anonymat des grandes maisons. Vous retenez vite vos repères : le Kubbeli Salon pour l’heure du thé, l’Orient Bar pour finir la soirée, et ce va-et-vient feutré d’un grand hôtel qui connaît sa fonction. Le nom d’Aslı Güral, associé aux notes de piano du salon, dit bien le ton de la maison : un classicisme vivant, pas figé. Le vrai intérêt, à mon sens, tient à cette continuité européenne au cœur d’Istanbul.
